Nestled in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges, Gembrook Truffles is a family-owned truffière that began as a dream in 2007, when truffle cultivation was still in its infancy in Australia. Determined to master the craft, Colin and Nathan travelled to Europe in 2008 to study the science of truffle production before establishing their first orchard in 2010. Their patience was rewarded in 2014 with the discovery of their first French black truffle, marking the beginning of what has become one of Victoria's most respected truffle farms.
What makes Gembrook's truffles so exceptional is the unique combination of environment and expertise. The farm sits on pristine, well-drained soils with abundant rainfall, pure water, and cool winters—conditions remarkably well suited to growing French black truffles. Unlike many producers, the team also operates its own truffle tree nursery, giving them complete control over tree quality and cultivation from the very beginning. The result is truffles renowned for their intense aroma, deep earthy character, and exceptional flavour; a true reflection of the cool-climate landscape of Victoria's Dandenong Ranges.
